Al Hansen nasce a New York nel 1927. Artista performativo appartenente al gruppo Fluxus, è considerato un pioniere nella performance e nell’Happening. Oltre alla performance Hansen si dedica ai collage soprattutto basati attorno all’ immagine della Venere di Willendorf realizzati con carte di caramelle e mozziconi di sigaretta. Negli anni ’80 si trasferisce a Colonia dove apre una scuola chiamata Ultimate Akademie.
